This Privacy Policy explains how Cadence Technologies ApS collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the Cadence mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, “CYKOM”).

1. Who we are

2. What data we collect

  • Account information (Such as full name, username, city etc.).
  • Location data: precise or approximate location when you choose to share it for features like nearby activities and route suggestions. Background location is only collected if you enable it in your device settings.
  • Device and usage data: device identifiers, app interactions, feature usage, session length, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data.
  • App usage data: feature usage patterns, search history, and interactions with other users.
  • Support and communications: messages or reports you send to us, including abuse reports, and associated metadata.
  • Motion and physical activity data: When you use workout tracking features, your device’s motion sensors detect physical activity states (such as walking, running, cycling, or stationary). This data is used to:
    • Improve GPS tracking accuracy during workouts
    • Optimize battery consumption by adjusting tracking frequency based on your movement
    • Automatically detect when you start or stop moving
    • This motion data is processed locally on your device and is only transmitted to our servers as part of an active workout session you choose to record.

3. How we use your data

  • detecting fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
We process your data based on:

  • Your consent (which you may withdraw at any time — certain features may not function without it, such as location-based services).
  • The necessity to perform our contract with you
  • Our legitimate interests (e.g. platform safety, abuse prevention or service improvement)
  • Compliance with legal obligations

5. Sharing and disclosure

  • With service providers and processors who help us operate, secure, and improve CYKOM (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting).
  • With analytics providers to understand app usage and improve features.
  • With other users on the app when you choose to share information or participate in Activities.
  • With authorities where legally required , including to comply with applicable child safety laws and reporting obligations.
  • With advertising or marketing partners only if you have provided your consent.

6. International data transfers
Your data may be processed in or transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA. We ensure appropriate safeguards such as SCCs are in place.

7. Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active and as needed to provide services and comply with legal obligations. If you are based in EU and have been inactive for more than 2 years, we will delete your account automatically. You may request an account deletion at any time. Certain information (e.g., transaction records, legal compliance logs) may be retained for longer where required by law.

8. Your rights
Under GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Contact us at privacy@cykom.com to exercise your rights.

9. Children’s privacy
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. In some regions (e.g., EU), local age limits (e.g., 16) may apply. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the applicable minimum age. If we learn that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly and may disable the account. Any content related to child sexual abuse or exploitation will be removed and reported to relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law.

We implement technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including encryption and access control.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to the user through the app or email.
